October 2026, the PNKSTR market cap fell 45% and the floor hit its lowest close since April
PNKSTR's market cap fell 45.4% in October, from $14.05M to $7.67M, taking the premium from 4.24x to 3.10x. The CryptoPunks floor closed at 28.49 ETH on 30 October, its lowest close since 21 April, and ended the month at 30.41 ETH, down 7.8%.
The month in numbers
| 30 September | 31 October | Change | |
|---|---|---|---|
| CryptoPunks floor | 32.99 ETH | 30.41 ETH | -7.8% |
| PNKSTR premium | 4.24x | 3.10x | -26.9% |
| PNKSTR market cap | $14.05M | $7.67M | -45.4% |
| Treasury value | $3.31M | $2.47M | -25.3% |
| Treasury value in ETH | 1,237.4 | 1,103.5 | -10.8% |
| Punks held | 37 | 36 | -1 |
| Unallocated ETH | 16.57 | 8.71 | -7.86 |
| ETH price | $2,677 | $2,242 | -16.2% |
The premium is the PNKSTR market cap divided by the treasury's value: the punks it holds at the floor, plus its unallocated ETH.
The floor: a three-day slide, then a one-day rebound
The floor stayed between 32.75 and 32.99 ETH through 8 October, then fell to 31.49 ETH on 9 October. From 30.49 ETH on 27 October it dropped three days running, to 29.89, 28.99 and 28.49 ETH. That last close is the lowest of the past 90 days. On 31 October it was back at 30.41 ETH, up 6.7% in a day, and it held there on 1 November.
The floor is one ask, the cheapest on the contract, so the series alone does not say whether the cheaper asks sold or were withdrawn.
Open asks rose from 1,144 to 1,167. They reached 1,175 on 28 and 29 October, the most since 4 February. In dollars the floor fell 22.8%, because ETH fell too.
The premium: back near its average
The premium peaked at 4.57x on 2 October, just inside its 90-day 2-sigma band, whose top was 4.60x that day on the log scale used on /premium. It closed between 3.23x and 3.71x from 10 to 24 October, then jumped to 4.35x on 25 October, a move that did not hold.
The month's lowest close was its last. At 3.10x, the premium was at its lowest since 21 September, and 0.15 standard deviations above its average of 3.00x. No October close left the band.
The token moved most. The market cap's fall was its largest in a calendar month since December 2025, and most of September's 107% rise went back. Measured in ETH, the market cap fell 34.8% and the treasury 10.8%.
The treasury's 133.9 ETH fall has three parts: 95.6 ETH from the lower floor on 37 punks, 30.4 ETH from holding one punk fewer, and 7.9 ETH less unallocated.
Treasury trades
- 1 October: sold Punk #242
- 19 October: bought Punk #1930
- 31 October: sold Punk #1930
Punk #1930 stayed 12 days, the shortest hold since October 2025. The median across all 15 completed holds is 25 days.
Circulating supply dropped 4.77 million tokens on 3 October, two days after the first sale, and 7.53 million on 1 November, the day after the second. That fits the model described on /about: when a punk sells, the ETH buys back PNKSTR and burns it. Sale prices are not in the premium data, so we do not match the amounts here.
Trait floors
Some attribute floors fell further than the punk floor. All of these had 10 or more listings on both days:
| Attribute | 30 September | 31 October | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wild Blonde | 60.00 ETH | 31.88 ETH | -46.9% |
| Blonde Short | 49.00 ETH | 31.89 ETH | -34.9% |
| Eye Patch | 44.00 ETH | 31.99 ETH | -27.3% |
| Blue Eye Shadow | 33.63 ETH | 46.00 ETH | +36.8% |
What this does and does not say
The premium is a ratio, and in October both sides fell, the token more than the treasury. A reading near the 90-day average only places the premium against the past three months. It does not say what either the token or the punks should be worth. A floor low that reversed the next day is one close, not a level.
